Safety and Insurance
Safety is a key component of all Speed Merchants Ltd events. We have an excellent record of safety for vehicles and participants and intend to keep it. Our Safety Steward will have the final say on all safety issues.
Each day starts with a mandatory video or classroom ground school covering the procedures for the use of the track- entries, exits, and other on-track procedures. High speed driving instruction can also be provided if the event calls for it. This takes the form of A/V aided lectures and can include individual in-car instruction by experienced racing driver/instructors.
On-site emergency vehicles include one or more ambulances, flat tow vehicles, and flat bed or conventional wreckers, as required by the nature of the event. On-track activities are controlled by our Safety Steward, aided by observers all around the course and marshalls to direct traffic in the paddock. Staffing levels will vary based upon the nature of the event. Personnel for auxiliary activities such as hospitality and information centers can also be arranged.
All events run by Speed Merchants Ltd have insurance coverage as mandated by our corporate policies, the tracks we use and the client involved. We have sources for this unusual insurance and our carriers know us and our procedures. We can work with your insurance department if you wish to obtain the necessary coverage. Note: OUR NORMAL COVERAGE DOES NOT INCLUDE ON-TRACK DAMAGE TO VEHICLES. That coverage may be obtained, if desired.
